For your consideration today, I have a lovely water jug by Alfred Meakin of Staffordshire England. The jug has beautiful farm scenes on both sides, a small farm scene on the spout and a vine running up the handle. This is one of many items produced in the late 1800s referred to as Romantic Ware, and were produced by Staffordshire Potteries. This jug dates to the early 1900s. The pitcher is free from cracks, chips, stains and repairs, it stands 6" tall and is 5 1/2" across the top. Along with the marks on the bottom, there is an inscribed W. This jug looks very country and the colors are very warm. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have and thank you for stopping by to see this old jug.
