Vintage 2 Gold Silver Tone Ruby Red Rhinestone Necklace

17 inches long and 1 1/4 inches wide, this gorgeous gold tone necklace has ruby red marquis stones and silver tone filigree. Like new condition from the Fran Originals group. I am also including the earrings that match this set.

This set was acquired from a group of new old stock which we've been able to establish was made by Fran Originals. Fran originals was a "jobber" company in New York that made pieces for Selro Selini, Weiss, Hobe and many others. They used fine crystals and beads from Europe and you can they did pieces for all quality lines from the very best to more normal pieces. Many pieces have the tag Fran Originals with the wholesale prices and this was the wholesale supplier for S/S. We also believe many of these pieces were custom made or experimental. This stock was purchased from the original owner of Fran Originals an the stock now resides in Chicago. Some of the beads are so unique and unusual, I've never seen anything quite like them. It's really quite an important story and in viewing a good portion of the stock I have seen some amazing things. The company closed in 1970 so all the stock is pre-1970. There are thousands upon thousands of pieces and I am lucky to have acquired some. I've learned so much about the manufacturing of vintage costume in the process and realized quickly they did a lot of work for a lot of good companies. When this stock is gone, it'll be sad as I am sure this is something that won't be seen again anytime soon.
