Hand Hooked Rug - "Rose Reunion"

This beautiful hand-hooked rug, named "Rose Reunion", measures 16" x 44". The pattern was designed by Jane McGown Flynn. "Rose Reunion" was hooked by Norma McElhenny and completed in 2004. Part of the finishing process includes a cloth hanger if you prefer to hang the rug on the wall. This rug currently hangs in Norma's Cape Cod studio.

The dark background brings out each of the beautiful pink roses. The shadows and color blending of the petals make you believe that these flowers can be picked.

You can utilize this rug as a table runner or to protect the top of a dresser; hang it on the wall or put it on the floor. No matter where "Rose Reunion" finds a home, it will look fabulous!

About The Artist: Norma McElhenny is a McGown-certified instructor who teaches classes in her home studio in Brewster, Massachusetts. She has earned numerous awards and honors throughout her career.

Besides teaching the mechanics of rug hooking, Norma instructs students on color planning, dyeing wool and finishing rugs. She has given demonstrations and workshops on various topics, such as wool dyeing and rug finishing, to peers and students. Norma also gives demonstrations to the public to raise awareness and interest in the art of rug hooking.

2007 will be Norma's third year teaching at ATHA (Association of Traditional Hooking Artists) in New Hampshire. In addition, she will be teaching at a week-long rug hooking camp in Vermont this June.
