Small & Sweet! Hand Carved Children's Wooden Dutch Shoes

Just a bit big for a baby, these hand carved wooden shoes would still be for a small child. The shoes come to a point so they are considerably longer than actual foot size. The Dutch style shoes have a leather strap that goes across the top of the foot. This top leather strap has a protective felt padding stitched underneath for cushion. Another leather strap goes around the child's heel. The shoes have been worn -- quite possibly by several children. The back strap on one shoe was probably replaced long ago (though it appears original to the shoe), because it is a bit thicker and less worn than the back strap on the other shoe. The thinner strap would only need to be replaced if the shoe were intended to be worn because it is thinner and the leather is cracked from age. The complete length of the shoes including the pointed tip is 6 1/8." There are no breaks or cracks to the wood and the leather remains in very good condition except for the one strap being cracked as previously noted. A carefully carved hole on the side of each shoe was likely intended to use for hanging the shoes and would still be a nice way to display them.
