Labeled; Sandra Lee, this 1940's Vintage Dotted Swiss Dress is two piece. The base dress includes a gored, ten panel, black* & white polka dot skirt with a black shell top. The collarless, sleeveless, sheer top of the dress appears to be acetate or rayon. The matching "jacket" was intended to stay on with the dress but is a separate piece that could have been worn with other skirts. An ecru lace trims the pleated jacket top and a half belt with a sliding covered buckle in the back not only adds charm but can be utilized to draw in the waist. Opening in the front, the jacket includes eight button holes and eight dark navy rosette buttons. A small shoulder pad is noted at each gathered puffy sleeve. The dress is labeled a size 9. The bust measures 32", waist 22", hips 34," and length 38." This vintage garment does not have tagged washing / cleaning instructions. The tag and lace trim appear to be discolored although the lace is not intended to be white. As with most vintage items there are no actual cleaning instructions so should be gently hand washed and air dried. **The fabric may actually be a very dark navy but appears black to me.
