This is one of several Victorian Photographs of this little girl Catherine listed in this shop. Here she is pictured with her brother Hugh. She is in the same highly carved chair in which some other poses were done in apparently on the same day. There is currently a photograph of her as an Infant, an older baby, and one as a little girl probably taken the same day as this one, still available. I had estimated her age in this one as maybe 5 or 6 years old (which would have dated the photograph around 1905), looking at her in perspective to her brother though I might believe she is closer to three or four--she was a bigger child than some who certainly slimmed down as she got older. After purchasing this lot of photos, I was able to track a small portion of Catherine and her brother Hugh's lives from infant to young adulthood through these photographs. It can safely be said that this picture is a pose from a studio sitting of 1905 or earlier (likely a few years earlier) based on other information and actual dates received with this lot of photographs. THIS PHOTOGRAPH IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. The actual photograph measures approximately 3 1/2" x 5 5/8" and comes affixed to a heavier stock studio portrait paper that measures 10 1/2" x 14" and comes in a folded studio folder.
