LUSH! ~ Vintage Wilshire Black & White Feather Pill Box Hat ~

A rich & lovely mixture of black and creamy white swirling feathers adorn this vintage pill box hat. The soft feathers cover a stiffly formed hat that has retained it's shape and is in Excellent Condition. The inside offers a fancy brocade like pattern and two makers labels. The UNION Label remains intact as well as the Wilshire name tag which has long been associated with fine millinery. It appears someone added a long piece of black netting with rhinestone ends, probably to tie ribbon-like under the chin as a means of keeping the hat on one's head on a windy day. The netting is attached with a few large basting stitches and can easily be removed to bring the hat back to perfection. The hat measures 7 1/2" across and 2 1/2" deep. The hat band measures 22 1/2" around.
