One of the favored Enid Collins designs that did so well that the design was brought back several times with minimal, to not so minimal, changes was Pavan. The updated changes were reflected in their title but each involve the colorful bejeweled Peacock or Peacocks. There was this: the original Pavan design, and then other versions followed including; Pavan I, II, III, & IV and perhaps others. This Enid Collins of Texas original purse has been maintained in Excellent Condition! The wonderful amber colored jewels are perfect for Fall & Winter wear especially. The purse is in pristine condition without marks or stains. The burlap like fabric background is flawless and the Mahogany base with barely a sign of use. The white leather trim and handles are also in Excellent Condition. All of the jewels are intact. The bucket style hand bag has the Enid Collins signature on the bottom right and the name of the design on the bottom left. The inside and outside are without a stain or barely a mark! The purse measures 10 1/2" tall and 8 3/4" wide. A perfect gift for the vintage purse collector and more specifically for Enid Collins' fans! Christmas will be here before you know it!

A LITTLE HISTORY.... Enid Collins of Medina, Texas began what became a whirl wind of glory right from her home in the very late 1950's. Her personally designed purses with sparkling "jewels," and designs that often included "critters" became such a hit that her business grew and grew and grew until she received an offer, too good to turn down, from the Tandy Leather Corporation. She sold her company in 1970 and the bags continued under Tandy. Her signature which had often been the simple "ec" changed to include the well known horse and Collins name. The lovely and incredible "PAVAN" purse above reflects an Enid Collins signature before the Tandy buy out. After Tandy purchased her company, the Enid Collins designs and purses continued to proliferate and grow with millions more fans and followers. I read in someone else's history of the Enid Collins Purses that an "Oooo..." escapes the lips of every woman when they pick up their first bag. I would have to agree and add that obviously it doesn't stop with the first purse, the "Ohhhhs and Ahhhs " still continue today no matter whether it's your first Collins purse or your 100th. The purses stopped production in the 70's several years after the buy out. The fan club remains and continues to grow!
