Nielloware Shield Shaped Brooch Siam Dancer in Sterling Silver

Marked "MADE IN SIAM" and "STERLING" on the back, this Niello, shield shaped brooch is in lovely condition. Due to the reflective and mirror like nature of the Neillo finish--the piece appears black when a flash is utilized and maintains the mirror like finish under ambient light. I have pictured it both ways in an attempt to get the true characteristics of the pin. The brooch has a detailed Siamese dancer in a striking pose etched into the silver. The brooch is about 2" long and 1 3/4" wide. The brooch is in beautiful condition with the only tarnish, or surface scratches, appearing on the back.
