SOLD 9" x 12" Rose & Floral Paper Mache Vintage Tray ~ Japan

This vintage tray measures 9"x 12" with a lovely centered floral design; a single pink rose surrounded by blue, white, and yellow flowers--much like the design on a tole tray. Made from paper mache', the tray has a wood like appearance and is lacquered with a semi-glossy protective coating. A patent number and insignia ( C with a K stamped over it) are stamped on the back. The stamped information also says "Made in Japan" & "Alcohol Proof." Many of these trays originated during the "Occupied Japan" Era. This patent number appears to be an early one and the C with K mark was in use during the 1940's. The perfect size for snacks, lunch, or beautiful just for display! The only sign of wear is very minimal and only to the finish of the very edge of the tray. Otherwise the tray remains in Excellent Condition with the finish intact and glossy.
