WOW! If you have never seen this wonderful Antique Cookbook--you are in for a big treat! Because Sundays were always the "Big" Meal of the week and very often the "Formal" Meal of the week (and still are for many people)--the creation of this cookbook was a wonderful idea! Not just 52 recipes but a Full Menu for a year's worth of Sundays with Entrees like Oysters on the Half Shell, Stuffed Baked Trout, Chicken Fricassee, and many, many other recipes. Each of the 52 menus are for several courses: appetizers, entrees, sauces, vegetable sides, gravies and desserts and there is a recipe and how-to for each. A full index is at the back. The book is copyrighted 1913 and was promoted by a company who produced a shortening called "Cottolene"; a byproduct of Cottonseed and Beef Tallow. (Other shortenings can be substituted within the recipes as needed). The book is in Clean, Crisp, Excellent Condition for it's age. A slight separation of the binding is just beginning (see photo) but all pages and the cover do remain fully intact. Not just a Collectible Cook Book but a very USEFUL 192 Page Collectible Cook Book. A clipped article / recipe from a newspaper was within the book and will come with it. Though not dated, an advertisement on the back of the clipping suggests a date of 1918.
