The hard back book was an annual collection of short stories that were recognized by critics and the reading public as the best for the year of 1943. These winning authors of the O. Henry Memorial Award, were honored in this publication of their stories. The book has obviously been loved and read and still in good condition. Published by Doubleday in 1943, it is a Twenty Fifth Anniversary Edition of the O. Henry Awards. A literature lover's prize, this anthology includes authors now well known such as; James Thurber, Eudora Welty, Carson McCullers, Pearl Buck, and more. Along with this book is a publication (paper back book) called The Book League Review also published in 1943 and in mint condition. This publication reviews this book and pictures the award winning authors on its cover. The publication is in MINT CONDITION. I am selling the two as a set.
