Spotswood ranks "in front of other Colonial Patterns" says a 1913 Ad for this marvelous pattern. Gorham's hallmarks; the Passant Lion, the Anchor, and the Gothic "G" are present on the back of this teaspoon along with the 1912 Patent date for the Spotswood Pattern and the identification of the spoon as Sterling. The flatware spoon is also engraved on the reverse with the year date of 1915--most likely the date it was given as a gift. The monogrammed initial "L" is within a shield at the proximal ...

This Sterling Silver Teaspoon bears the Hallmarks for R. Wallace & Sons (most currently known as Wallace Silversmiths) including the Stags Head. The pattern is named "Washington" and was patented in 1911. This spoon is Monogrammed with the letter "L" and has an engraved date on the back of the handle of January 1, 1915--most likely a gift date. With Gorham's Hallmarks; the Lion Passant (Walking Lion ), Anchor, and a Gothic "G ", the spoon is also marked Sterling and carries the Patent Date for the pattern of 1914. This pattern, named Plymouth, is simply elegant and carries a crown at the very tip of the handle. This flatware teaspoon is also Monogrammed with the letter "L" and is engraved on the back of the spoon as December 25th, 1914.
