Made in Japan and marked Alcohol Proof, many of these lacquered Paper Mache' trays are from the 1940's era as I am fairly certain these are. These little personal size trays carry a wonderful bouquet of pink and red roses, hand painted on a black background, and are trimmed in gold. The trays show various amounts of wear to their design but all are without cracks and peeling of their surface. This vintage tray measures 9"x 12" with a lovely centered floral design; a single pink rose surrounded by blue, white, and yellow flowers--much like the design on a tole tray. Made from paper mache', the tray has a wood like appearance and is lacquered with a semi-glossy protective coating. A patent number and insignia ( C with a K stamped over it) are stamped on the back.
