Seductive Antique 19thc Cut Voided Silk Velvet Fabric Red

Eww, this is precious!! And so very, very rare. This cut and voided silk velvet fabric is from the mid-late 19thc if not earlier and I think personally that it was primarily intended for wallpaper use as it is thicker weight. It is so regal and formal..and the seductive, scrolled ruby red..could you just die? It is certainly gorgeous for pillows and most definetly sturdy enough..I also see this used for totes..very French and very impressive. Nice enough to just frame for decoration and study. A few little faint stains....and some dirt along the exact edges..which indicated its age..but it is the way that someone took the time to care and store this fabric which amazes me. This is definetly an important textile and its providence should most definetly be Lyon, in my opinion of course vs. Italy. Lyon, as fate may have it, was the centre of velvet and cut velvet production in Europe during the 17-18th centuries. Some companies continuing the tradition into the 19thc. I wouldn't be surprised to find out that this is a much earlier textile than I have indicated. It is s superb fabric and I feel most priviledged to introduce it for sale.
