Gorgeous Antique Americana Needlepoint Terrier Old Canvas

Ahhhh...there is nothing like a Sunday afternoon, strolling hand in hand with my husband through the stalls of the monthly college swapmeet. On the way out of the show, peeking into our bag of few goodies, and intent on finding that one special thing, we came upon this adorable terrier needlepoint. I quickly grabbed it with an emphatic "mine" to my husband's amusement. Asking the dealer information about my new treasure, she explained she new little except that she believed it to be 19thc and American, which I concurred immediately due to the subject matter and age and wear of the canvas. "What a great little piece of Americana!" I said to my husband. When you turn it over, you find that someone a long time ago removed this from a mounting and strung it around a piece of slate. Just so cherished and obviously loved, it will be difficult to part with. But it is poodle grooming time and I unfortuantely, do not have the luxury to keep things (although my dear husband managed to buy himself a tiny plastic skeleton) We left the swap meet with treasures in hand and smiles on our faces. It was a great afternoon! Only slightly worn with a few missing stitches...what an adorable punim (face). Size: 10" x 8 1/2
