Vintage Silver Charm: Car that Opens

$40 USDVintage Silver Charm: Car that Opens

Antique & Vintage Jewelry:Vintage:Charms
This mechanical charm is an old automobile. It actually looks like a taxi, but it doesn't say taxi on the side. There seems to be a dome light over the windshield. It opens to show the steering wheel on the right. This is an English charm that dates to the 1960's. The metal is solid cast, unmarked silver, which is not unusual. The metal content is likely to be .800. I am presenting the patina as I found it. This is a large charm, measuring 1 inch from bumper to bumper.
Sterling Silver Double Sided Puffy Heart Charm

$45 USDSterling Silver Double Sided Puffy Heart Charm

Antique & Vintage Jewelry:Vintage:Charms
This is an unusual example of the WWII friendship hearts that were exchanged and added to charm bracelets. This charm is marked sterling; the mark is in the dark patina in the background on one side, seen in the second photo. This charm is the same pattern on both sides, which is not common. The patina is original.
Retired James Avery Horned Toad or Lizard Pendant

$95 USDRetired James Avery Horned Toad or Lizard Pendant

Antique & Vintage Jewelry:Vintage:Silver, Sterling
This beautifully cast sterling silver pendant is marked with the James Avery candelabra logo, and the JA trademark. This is not a charm; it is the larger, heavery pendant. The three dimensional figure is the Texas Horned Toad, or more accurately, the Horned Lizard. This charming reptile is famous for it's defense mechanism, which is to squirt blood from it's eye. Texas Christian University uses this as it's mascot, calling it the Horned Frog. It was for this purpose that James Avery made this ...
Sterling Puffy Heart Charm Flying Goose Pattern

$60 USDSterling Puffy Heart Charm Flying Goose Pattern

Antique & Vintage Jewelry:Vintage:Charms
This charm dates to WWII. it is a puffy heart, with an unusual flying goose pattern. The back is engraved "Dalph." This is the type of Friendship charm that was engraved and collected on bracelets in the 1940's. I have not disturbed the patina of the sterling silver, as many collectors want this old soft shine.
Vintage Sterling Silver Figural Crab Charm

$20 USDVintage Sterling Silver Figural Crab Charm

Antique & Vintage Jewelry:Vintage:Charms
This is a charm that dates to the 60's or possibly the 70's. It is a large very detailed figural crab charm. It was most likely collected to represent the astrological sign for Cancer, the Crab, the Water Sign. (That's my sign.) There is a deeply impressed sterling mark on the back of the crab. It measures 7/8 inch from leg to leg, making it a rather large charm. I have left the tarnish as is; a quick buff with a polishing cloth will clean this charm up nicely for you.
Sterling Silver Swordfish Pin/Pendant Mexico TM-96

$35 USDSterling Silver Swordfish Pin/Pendant Mexico TM-96

Antique & Vintage Jewelry:Vintage:Silver, Sterling
This is a sterling silver swordfish, made to be worn either as a lapel pin, or from a chain as a pendant. The mark is 925 Mexico TM-38. The mark identifies it as a registered jeweler in Taxco. The rest of the mark indicates this was the 38th jeweler to register with the letter M in the assay office of Taxco. This system began in 1979. This pin is an impressive 2 3/8 inches from tip to tail. It is hollow hand crafted. It was absolutely black when I got it. I gave it a gently buff with a jeweler's ...
Vintage Sterling Silver Puffy Heart Charm Army Air Corp

$48 USDVintage Sterling Silver Puffy Heart Charm Army Air Corp

Antique & Vintage Jewelry:Vintage:Charms
This old sterling silver charm was traded as a friendship token in the 1940's. The emblem is the insignia for the Army Air Corp. The back of the charm is marked sterling. This charm was never engraved. It retains an old patina that I did not clean.
Vintage Silver Charm Bracelet with 16 Travel Souvenir Charms

$145 USDVintage Silver Charm Bracelet with 16 Travel Souvenir Charms

Antique & Vintage Jewelry:Vintage:Charms
This is a charm bracelet full of travel souvenir charms. This was a popular collectible for young ladies making Eurpean tours as they came of age in the 50's and later. This one starts with a single link chain of solid metal (not plated.) The safety chain is intact and welded in place. The latch is the padlock charm. It is marked "Silver" with a British maker's mark. As was typical, the charms vary from no content mark, to 'silver' to sterling marks. The bull has British hallmarks including the ...

SOLDSOLD Vintage Sterling Puffy Heart Charm Diamond and Hearts.

Antique & Vintage Jewelry:Vintage:Charms
This is a very old sterling charm. It was a friendship token, traded and added to a charm bracelet in the 1940's. The front is the design as shown, of a diamond with a border of hearts and a flourish. On the back is the sterling mark, and an engraved name, Merle. The patina is soft and dark as I found it. This charm will clean up nicely if you like.
