Wonderful 19th century cast bronze Russian Orthodox Triptych, depicting detailed high relief religious iconography. Circa 1880's.

In excellent condition, clear relief detail, some rubbing on faces in the center panel. All three sections are connected with screws and hinges, and work perfectly.

Measures: 2 1/2"h x 2 3/8"w x 6 1/2"w open

Triptychs are works of art which are divided into three sections, hinged together and folded. These smaller versions were used as ‘Traveling Icons’ by priests and others to find serenity in prayer while on journeys or away from home.
