SOLD 1870’s Walnut Sideboard/Server
This is a very unique sideboard from the Victorian era. We estimate the construction to be in the mid 1870’s. The piece is of high quality construction, solid wood chamfer doors and hand dovetail drawers.
The maker used solid woods rather than veneer through out the entire piece. The drawer faces are book matched flame or crotch grained walnut. The door centers also show a nice detailed grain pattern.
The contemporary design of the piece is the thing I find must interesting. I can not say I have seen this elegant simple style used in the Victorian era before. This is great display piece for a flat screen television as well as for the original intention as a sideboard. The original hand painted delivery address on the back is for Dyersville, Iowa.
20 ½” x 56”long x 37” tall.
