The D.E. McNicol Holdfast baby plate we have to offer is the cat's meow-ummm sorry. Any way, I love the rendition of the favorite poem, "Pussy Cat Were Have You Been...I've Been to visit the Queen"..the regal cat dressed in all his splendor would whisper to the young ladies...no wonder older people have a great sense of humor-they were surrounded by it starting very young in their hearts. The plate has a rolled edge of 1 1/2", 8 1/4" wide, 1 1/4" deep. There is crazing on the whole plate but there are no chips, dings, or cracks. Some utensil marks on the transfer-shows the love for the plate from a small child. The mark on the back of the plate shows the age of between 1892-1910 when this mark was used by the company.
