There's always room for more no matter how large your collection gets. As satisfying it is to add new pieces to your collection it is as satisfying to share with fellow collectors. Always on the hunt, exciting new things are found all the time.Everything for sale is vintage. That means made at the appropriate time period i.e. Bakelite is from the 30s & 40s whereas Lucite can go into the 60s.

If the influx of barrels of newly made Asian fakes has you hesitant, rest assured you will never see a piece of that in my shop. I know the vintage from the new without a doubt so you will never buy anything that is newly made to deceive.

I love Bakelite bangle bracelets but can't resist the wonderful carvings in Bakelite pins, clips, and buckles. Always a favorite are Bakelite figurals. We all spot a piece that has us saying "I've got to have that!". Hopefully you will experience that while in my shop!

Nine years ago I didn't know Bakelite from butter until a green circle pin with pink celluloid bells dangling from it caught my eye. Since then I have been buying and selling up and down the east coast.

Much of my inspiration comes from a fellow Bakelite fanatic, Deborah Lyons who has a Ruby Lane shop called Banglemania. After much collecting and research we came out with our first book called "Plastic Bangles". (Schiffer 2005) which has been very well received in the US and Europe. It covers every material from celluloid & Bakelite to vintage Lucite. There's thousands of bangles pictured and tons of helpful information about identifying one plastic from another.

So browse through the shop with confidence and know that what you see is authentic and sold by someone who wants your collection to be as cherished as theirs.
