Antique Egg Cups Snow Hare & Game Bird Scenes ~ RARE

This handsome set of 4 Antique Double Egg Cups depict circa 1880 scenes of Snow Hare and Game Birds on each cup with shading of light pink around their rounded bases. Three of the egg cups feature scenes of a Snow Hare, running through a winter landscape with gray trees and patches of snow on pale sage green colored grass, with a smaller Game Bird pattern on the reverse side. One egg cup depicts a scene of a female Pheasant with chicks against a winter scene with leafless trees in shades of brown, gray, and tan, and a smaller hare pattern on the reverse side. The female game bird also has orange markings on her head and beak. These lovely antique double egg cups once had gold bands around their rims which are now worn from age with just traces remaining on the top edge; gold edges on the smaller pink tinted area are in tact. All four egg cups are otherwise in most excellent antique condition except for some very light wear on the scenes which is hardly noticeable and quite acceptable on pieces from this era. NO chips or cracks which is remarkable considering how much use these must have had over the years! Wonderful 19th Century pieces!
