Harker Ware Pottery Pate Sur Pate Creamer

This Harker Ware Pottery Pate Sur Pate Creamer is a lovely shade of dark teal green with a pattern that features a solid background with a white and solid leaf-like trim on the rim. The bottom stamp has "Harker Ware Pate sur Pate, Pottery Est. 1840, Resists acid-Detergents-Crazing". "Pate sur Pate" is a laborious process that involves building up a design in relief with layers of liquid slip, each one having to dry before the next is applied. It's unique and very attractive! Creamer is in excellent condition ~ No chips and nice glaze. Has several surface cracks inside from age that don't go through to the outside at all. Measures 5-3/4" from tip of spout to edge of shaped handle and is 2-1/2" tall. I'm not sure of the age of this piece, but Harker went out of business in the early 1970's. This is a pattern I haven't seen much of lately!
