This is a beautiful little silver notebook, which probably would have been worn on a chatelaine. The pencil, with silver top, is attached, but it appears to be broken off inside the pencil slot. Inside, the pages are dated, Monday, Tuesday, etc, and Jan, Feb, etc, 1898. The notebook measures 2 and 3/4 inches long counting ring, and 1 and 3/8 inches wide. There are no dents or scratches on the silver, front and back, and the hallmarks, declaring that the piece is British Sterling silver, made in London in 1898 by the makers "W.N and GN," are clear and legible.
