This is a beautiful box which I purchased at the Flea Market in Paris. It is lovely brass, with a beautiful portrait miniature in the center. The box is line with velvet which appears original. I'm not sure of the date of this box, but I would guess 1890 or earlier. It is in excellent condition. It measures 3 and 1/4 inches by 2 and 3/4 inches. The miniature itself is 1 and 1/4 inches in diameter. It needs a good polishing, but some people prefer the old brass unpolished, so I'll leave that up to the new owner.
