Pink Saophire Ring, Rose Cut Diamonds, Georgian

$3,200 USDPink Saophire Ring, Rose Cut Diamonds, Georgian

Jewelry:Antique:Fine:Georgian:Pink Sapphire Ring, Diamond Surround, Georgian
I have never seen a sapphire this color. It's a purplish pink stone. It was very hard to get a good photo of it because of the facets, but it is a lovely and unusual ring. It is circa 1820, and set in a gold setting, 9 ct or better. It is a size 7 and 1/2, but could be sized by someone used to working with antique jewelry. The sapphire itself measures 3/8 of an inch in diameter, and it has an 8 rose cut diamond surround. I can't really measure stone size or weight , with the ring in its setting, ...
Roman Ring, Silver, First Century

$650 USDRoman Ring, Silver, First Century

Jewelry:Antique:Roman Ring, Silver, First Century
I have been fortunate to find a few very early pieces on this buying trip. Here is a Roman ring from the first century. it has a very nice intaglio and the pie crust back, typical of rings of this period. It is a size 6 and 1/4, and is in excellent condition. It is always amazing to me that items like this can be found in England, but they are often dug up with metal detectors.
Amethyst and Pearl Earrings, Early Victorian

$1,200 USDAmethyst and Pearl Earrings, Early Victorian

Jewelry:Antique:Fine:Victorian:Amethyst And Pearl Earrings, Early Victorian
These beautiful gold earrings, fashioned from 9 ct or better yellow gold, are circa 1840. They contain two small amethysts, and one , larger teardrop shaped amethyst, and these lovely stones are complimented with natural pearls.I love the dainty shape of these earrings, and the size is great--not too over the top, but pretty and feminine. The earrings measure 1 and 1/2 inches North to South, and 1/2 inch East to West. They are in excellent condition.
9 ct Earrings, Victorian

$1,200 USD9 ct Earrings, Victorian

Jewelry:Antique:Fine:Victorian:9 Ct Earrings, Victorian
These are beautiful 9ct gold earrings, circa 1880. What i like most about them is that they are so versatile; they can be worn with jeans, or a dressy suit. They measure 2 inches long, and 1/2 inch wide. They are in excellent condition.
Eye Miniature, Ring, Memorial Jewelry, Mourning Jewelry, Georgian

$4,800 USDEye Miniature, Ring, Memorial Jewelry, Mourning Jewelry, Georgian

Jewelry:Antique:Fine:Georgian:Eye Miniature Ring, Georgian, Memorial, Mourning
I am so excited to be able to offer this ring to my customers on Ruby Lane. I don't them often; there are so many fakes out there, and I have to know where it comes from and I have to feel it's right for me to buy them anymore. This one is special, and it has been authenticated by London dealers who are experts on reproductions. This one is very different from ones I have had in the past, and I believe it to be a masculine eye, and the eye of the deceased who is listed on the back. That makes ...
15 Carat Watch Key, Dog, Fidelity, Victorian

$425 USD15 Carat Watch Key, Dog, Fidelity, Victorian

Jewelry:Antique:Fine:Victorian:15 K Watch Key With Dog
This is a wonderful watch key, featuring an intaglio in agate, of a dog that appears to be some sort of a retriever, and I could not get the letters exactly , but I am certain it is a form of Fidelity. The watch key measures 1 and 3/4 inches North to South, and 1/2 inch East to West. It is circa 1860.
Cut Steel Necklace, Victorian

$375 USDCut Steel Necklace, Victorian

Jewelry:Antique:Fine:Victorian:Cut Steel Necklace, Victorian
This is a very nice, Victorian, cut steel choker style necklace. I must say, I've never seen anything quite like it. It is glittery, and not rusty, and of course, it must not be gotten wet to keep it in this same good condition. The necklace measures 17 inches long, is in excellent condition, and the part with the dangles measures 1 inch wide. This is a wonderful piece, worthy of any cut steel collection. It is circa 1850.
Georgian Mourning Jewelry, Memorial Jewelry, "Not Lost But Gone Before" Ring

$1,200 USDGeorgian Mourning Jewelry, Memorial Jewelry, "Not Lost But Gone Before" Ring

Jewelry:Antique:Memorial:Mourning
As many of you know, I have quite an extensive collection of mourning jewelry, and I keep anything with unusual phrases; it's the English teacher in me, I guess. I find "Not Lost But Gone Before," among the most poignant of sentiments, and I am listing this great ring, only because I have a brooch with those words in my own collection. This lovely ring has the hair of the beloved, visible in beautiful, thick braids, and there is both black and white enamel on the front of the ring, signifying ...
Stuart Crystal Slide , Angels With Skull Heads, 1690

$4,800 USDStuart Crystal Slide , Angels With Skull Heads, 1690

Jewelry:Antique:Mourning:Memorial:Stuart Crystal Slide, Angels With Skull Heads, 1680
Right now in London, Stuart Crystals are even harder to find than usual. It seems there has been a run on them; I finally managed to find this very special one. It's a slide, gold, though I'm not sure of the weight, and it is small, Measuring 1/2 inch East to West, and 5/8 of an inch North to South. The crystal is very nicely faceted, and inside is gray hair. On top of the hair are two angels, holding a crown between them. What makes them unique is that they are wearing pink blouses, and green ...
Ruby and Diamond Ring, 17th Century

$2,400 USDRuby and Diamond Ring, 17th Century

Jewelry:Antique:Fine:17 Century Ruby And Diamond Ring
I am shopping at this listing and I am always excited to find very early pieces. It is getting harder and harder, but there is one dealer here from whom I can often buy very early items, and I am very excited to be able to offer these to my Ruby Lane Customers. Here we have a circa 1680 ring, high carat gold shank, with diamonds and a ruby. The stones are foiled and closed back, and the shoulders of the shank are heavily carved. The ring is quite a large size--10, though it could probably be ...
Ring, Aquamarine and rose diamonds,Victorian

$1,800 USDRing, Aquamarine and rose diamonds,Victorian

Jewelry:Antique:Fine:Victorian:Ring, Aquamarine And Rose Cut Diamonds
This is a striking circa 1860's ring. It consists of an aquamarine, surrounded by rose diamonds, set in an 18 carat yellow gold setting. The diamonds are closed backed and set in silver. The ring is a size 7 with the top up on the sizer, but when I turn it around with the back on the top of the sizer, it is a 7 and 1/2. It could be sized. The decorated top of the ring measures 1/4 of an inch East to West, and a little over 1/4 of an inch North to South. This doesn't count the "shoulders" which ...
Roman Earrings, Carnelian, 2nd or Third Century, Intaglio

$2,400 USDRoman Earrings, Carnelian, 2nd or Third Century, Intaglio

Jewelry:Antique:Fine:Roman Era Earrings, Carnelian Intaglio, 2nd Or 3rd Century
Wow, I was excited just holding these. This is the first time I have ever seen Roman Era (2nd or third Century) earrings outside of a museum. These are high carat gold, with Carnelian seals--one with a running stag, and the other with some sort of standing God. They appear to be all original, except for the pearl, which of course has been replaced, as pearls do not last. These can even be worn.
Sepia and Hair Miniature on Ivory, Love Token

$850 USDSepia and Hair Miniature on Ivory, Love Token

Jewelry:Antique:Mourning:Memorial
This is a wonderful sepia and hair miniature, on ivory. It's one of the nicest I have seen. I only wish it were set in gold rather than metal, but of course, then it would be much more expensive. This is probably French, and probably meant for a bride, as these items were often in wedding baskets. It is circa 1780, and it features two lovebirds on a plinth of hair, with arrows at the bottom. There is a dove at the top. The piece can be worn as a pendant or a brooch, and it measures 1 and 3/4 ...
Pendant, 9 K, Verre Eglomise, Double Heart and Crown, Seed Pearls, Victorian

$1,600 USDPendant, 9 K, Verre Eglomise, Double Heart and Crown, Seed Pearls, Victorian

Jewelry:Antique:Fine:Victorian:Pendant, 9 K, Verre Eglomise, Double Heart And Crown
This is a lovely pendant (chain sold separately) which I believe to be a Victorian copy of a Georgian theme. The bale is marked 9 k, and the piece is circa 1890-1900. The pendant contains an oval of Blue Glass (the french call this verre eglomise), and on top of the glass, is a double heart with crown in pearls. This lovely, sentimental piece measures 2 and 2/4 inches long, and 1 and 1/2 inches wide. The chain shown with the piece is separate, and can be purchased for $500. Please excuse the ...
Hair Brooch, Lyre, Gold, Victorian

$225 USDHair Brooch, Lyre, Gold, Victorian

Jewelry:Antique:Memorial:Hair Brooch:Lyre
This is another beautiful hair brooch which I have taken from my own collection. It's in the shape of a lyre, and once again, one puts it on by touching the gold, and not the hairwork, and this piece, crafted of either 10 or 14 carat gold, is in excellent condition. It measures 1 inch North to South, and 7/8 of an inch East to West. The piece maintain its "c" clasp, and "t" hinge, and is circa 1860.
High Carat Gold, Victorian Dangle Earrings, Victorian

$800 USDHigh Carat Gold, Victorian Dangle Earrings, Victorian

Jewelry:Antique:Fine:Victorian:18 Carat Gold, Earrings, Victorian
These are very pretty and very feminine, circa 1880 gold earrings, with a small touch of coral. They have the great, French backs, which hook, and are very secure. The earrings measure 2 inches long, and 5/8 of an inch wide. I tested the gold, thinking these might be 9 carat. The first time I tested them they came out 18 carat, and the 2nd time they came out 22 ct, so suffice it to say they are high carat gold. These earrings are very versatile.
Hair Brooch/Sepia Painting/ Georgian

$625 USDHair Brooch/Sepia Painting/ Georgian

Jewelry:Antique:Memorial:Mourning:Hair Brooch, Sepia Painting
This is a lovely, navette shaped brooch. The dealer from whom I bought this said she bought it as gold and tested it, and it is gold filled, or at least the back is. I think the frame is the front is most likely gold. Anyway, we have hairwork, and an ivory wafer with a lady painted in sepia. She is holding something or looking at something, though I'm not sure what it is--perhaps an urn? Anyway, the piece is in excellent condition, and it has a safety chain. It is 1 and 5/8 of an inch North to ...
Hair Cross Under Glass/Gold/Cornelia

$350 USDHair Cross Under Glass/Gold/Cornelia

Jewelry:Antique:Memorial:Mourning:Hair Cross, Victorian
This lovely item is a piece from my own personal collection. I bought it about fifteen years ago, before I went into business. I love it, but have kept too many. It is unusual to find a cross of hair under glass. It is gold and I think an American piece, but it's atleast 10K. The back is engraved "Cornelia" and I think the piece is circa 1860. It measures 1 and 1/2 " long, and 1 and 1/4 inches wide. It is in excellent condition,
Hair Brooch, Victorian, Gold fittings

$175 USDHair Brooch, Victorian, Gold fittings

Jewelry:Antique:Memorial:Victorian Hair Brooch
This is a very nice hair brooch which I have taken out of my own collection. It was among the first I purchased and I have enjoyed it for many years, but now have more than I can wear. This one is interesting because the hair around the glass locket is blonde, but the hair inside the locket is dark. This is probably the hair of a married or engaged couple. The fittings on the side are gold, though I'm not sure of the weight, but they allow one to put the brooch on while holding the fitting so as ...
Mourning Jewelry , Memorial Jewelry, Band, Early Victorian

$500 USDMourning Jewelry , Memorial Jewelry, Band, Early Victorian

Jewelry:Antique:Fine:Mourning:Memorial/Mourning Band/1845/Early Victorian
This is a very nice memorial band. It is engraved inside "Douglas Mercer, Ob 24th of February, 1845. I have no testing equipment with me in London, where I am listing this item, but it is most likely 18 carat gold. The interesting thing about this ring is the panel which opens. Most likely, it would have held the hair of the deceased, though there is no hair present there now. The ring is a size 6.
Hair Bracelet, Gold fittings, Victorian

$225 USDHair Bracelet, Gold fittings, Victorian

Jewelry:Antique:Memorial:Mourning:Hair Bracelet, Victorian
This is another of the pieces I am offering for sale from my own collection. It's a lovely, three strand hair bracelet, with gold (10 or 15 carat) fittings and clasp. The bracelet, circa 1860, is in excellent condition. It measures 6 and 1/4 inches long (not counting one end of the clasp), and 1/4 inches wide. There are initials on the clasp which I think are :"TBC", but it could possibly be "FBC." This is a wonderful example of jewelry crafted from hair.
Portrait Miniature, Mother and Child, Watercolor on Ivory, Georgian, Pendant Frame

$1,025 USDPortrait Miniature, Mother and Child, Watercolor on Ivory, Georgian, Pendant Frame

Jewelry:Antique:Fine:Georgian:Portrait Miniature Pendant Of Mother And Child
This is a very interesting portrait miniature, most likely French, which is a watercolor on ivory of a mother and child. The mother has the one breast bare ( a common symbolism of which have yet to find the significance . The painting is circa 1770, but the eglomise locket appears to be circa 1810. The two pieces go very well together, as there are shades of pink in both the locket and the painting. The metal locket is in very good condition, and there is fabric on the back, where another ...
Amethyst Seal/Pendant/Basket, Early Victorian

$925 USDAmethyst Seal/Pendant/Basket, Early Victorian

Jewelry:Antique:Fine:Victorian:Gold Basket Seal Pendant, Amethyst, Garnet, Turquoise, Early Victorian
What a wonderful seal, for want of a better word, this is! We have a basket, with beautiful cannetille gold work, tested 12 k , and set with turquoise and garnets. On the bottom of the basket, is the foiled amethyst. The top of the basket handle has a bale, so the piece can be worn on a chain. This is all amazing enough, but when one opens the basket, one finds a glass bezel under which is human hair work. This piece is circa 1840, and very typical of the beautiful gold work done then The basket ...
Amethyst Stomacher, Early Victorian, 14 Carat

$1,500 USDAmethyst Stomacher, Early Victorian, 14 Carat

Jewelry:Antique:Fine:Victorian:Amethyst Stomacher, 14 Carat, Early Victorian
This is a very nice, circa 1840, Amethyst Stomacher. It tested 14 carat yellow gold, and it is quite an impressive piece. The top part contains five, nice sized, foiled, amethysts. The bottom dangle contains one, large, pear shaped amethyst. The piece is in excellent condition, and seems all original except for the safety chain, which he person from whom I bought this stomacher added. This stomacher measures 3 and 3/4 inches North to South, and 2 and 1/4 inches East to West. This is a versatile ...
Hair Ring, Georgian

$550 USDHair Ring, Georgian

Jewelry:Antique:Memorial:Mourning:Georgian Hair Ring
This is a very nice, gold (though I don't know the weight) mourning ring, with hair under a bezel. It's hard to see because of the glass, but the hair is dark and nicely woven. The chasing around the glass is very typical of this period. The curved shank is also lovely, and this ring is a little unusual because of the engraving all the way around the inside of the shank, and the back of the bezel. The center back has the name of the deceased, "Mary Ruddle." All around the shank are the words, ...
Diamond Band 18 carat, 1913

$575 USDDiamond Band 18 carat, 1913

Jewelry:Antique:Fine:Five Diamond Band, 1913
This is a nice diamond band, 18 ct, with 5 diamonds. The marks are a little worn, but present and visible, and show the ring to be 18 ct gold, minted in Birmingham, in 1913. The ring is in excellent condition, size 6 and 1/2. The part of the ring containing the diamonds measures 5/8 of an inch East to West, and 1/4 inch North to South.
Diamond Ring, Rose Cut, Georgian

$1,800 USDDiamond Ring, Rose Cut, Georgian

Jewelry:Antique:Fine:Georgian:Rose Cut Diamond Ring, Georgian
This is a lovely Georgian (circa 1820) rose cut diamond ring. It is fashioned from 18 carat yellow gold, with the diamonds set in silver. Normally rings of this age have a closed back, but this one has been opened. The light really makes the diamonds sparkle. The ring is a size 7, and there is a large center stone, surrounded by 6 smaller ones. The top of the ring measures 1/2 inch East to West, and about the same North to South. It is really a pretty ring, with impressive stones which sparkle.
Hair Bracelet, 18 K Clasp, Scottish, Early Victorian

$2,175 USDHair Bracelet, 18 K Clasp, Scottish, Early Victorian

Jewelry:Antique:Fine:Victorian:Hair Bracelet With 18 K Clasp With Scottish Stones
As a rule, I don't care for the wide hair bracelets that were popular during the mid-Victorian period, but I fell in love with this one when I first saw it. It's so unusual, because most Scottish jewelry is silver, and I have never personally seen a Scottish bracelet with woven hair (as opposed to hair under glass), and this one is such a fine piece, and is in mint condition. I think it has been folded in a jewelry box all its life. The hair pattern is intricate, and there isn't a hair misplaced ...
Heart Shaped Locket With Diamond, 9 ct, Victorian

$275 USDHeart Shaped Locket With Diamond, 9 ct, Victorian

Jewelry:Antique:Fine:Victorian:9 Ct Gold Heart Shaped Locked With Diamond
Here is another beautiful heart shaped locket. This one is 9 ct. gold (back and front and marked on the back). It has a single rose cut diamond in the center. it measures , including the bale, 1 inch and 1/4 North to South, and 7/8 of an inch East to West. It opens, and two pictures could be placed inside, though there is no glass covering over the opening. The catch is secure, and this circa 1890 piece is in excellent condition with no dings. It's ready for a photo of your loved ones.
10 Carat Victorian Chain, 15 inch

$270 USD10 Carat Victorian Chain, 15 inch

Jewelry:Antique:Fine:Victorian:10 Carat Chain, 15 Inches
This is a very nice, mid weight, Victorian chain in the style which I would call a "box" chain. Again, I was told it was 9 carat, but it has tested 10 carat. It is 15 inches long, which is a length I really like because, often, a pendant can be worn with a chain this length with an open necked blouse, and still be seen. The chain, circa 1900, is in excellent condition.
