Horse and Geese Print, Gold Leaf Frame

$125 USDHorse and Geese Print, Gold Leaf Frame

Antiques:Art:Victorian Print Of Horses, Geese, And Lady
This is a nice early print, in an antique, gold leaf frame. Framed, the piece measures 22 inches North to South, and 26 inches East to West. There is a small tear in the print at 9 o'clock, but it doesn't go all the way across, and it fits together nicely, so one really has to look to see it. The colors are vivid. The frame has been regilded, but it looks nice, and this is a nice change to get a Victorian print, cheaply. It is circa 1890.
Hybrid Tea Rose Lithograph by Collingridges, Victorian

Antiques:Art:Silhouette Of Young Gentleman:Johnny Crawford, Aged 17, 1843
This is another great silhouette from the same collection. This one has the name of the subject, Johnny Crawford, his age, 17 years old, and the date, 1843--all written on the back. It is in its original wood frame which appears to be walnut or cherry, and has a beautiful patina. Framed the piece measures 6 and 1/2 inches North to South, and 5 inches East to West. The silhouette itself measures 3 1/4 inches North to South, and 1 and 1/4 inches East to West, and this is the cut silhouette only, ...
Silhouette, Painted, Early Victorian

$380 USDSilhouette, Painted, Early Victorian

Antiques:Art:Silhouette Of Young Woman, Victorian
This is a beautiful silhouette of a young lady. it has been painted, and has touches of white on the bonnet and shawl, and a few golden accents for the hair. The piece appears to be in its original black frame, and there is no damage at all to the silhouette. There is a little wrinkling of the paper around the silhouette, but it really isn't that noticeable, and doesn't detract. I don't know a lot about fashion ,, but I would guess this piece earlier if it weren't for the bonnet. i am guessing ...
Silhouette, Painted, Early Victorian, Lady

$325 USDSilhouette, Painted, Early Victorian, Lady

Antiques:Art:Silhouette Of Young Woman, Victorian
This is a very nice silhouette of a lady, which appears to be painted, with highlights with a paint that sparkles when the piece is held just right. The details, even to the ruffles of her blouse, are outstanding , and there is no damage to the piece. The silhouette is framed in the original frame, and all is in excellent condition, except there is a small crack in the frame, left, which is tight, and may well be a seam, At any rate, it does not detract from this circa 1850's piece. Framed, the ...

$600 USDMother and Daughter, Pair of Pencil Sketches, Georgian

Antiques:Art:Pair Of Pencil Sketches, Mother And Daughter, Georgian
Here we have a pair of wonderful sketches, done in pencil, of what appears to be a Mother and Daughter. They face each other, as these pairs were supposed to do, though unfortunately, I did not place them that way for the photo. Please forgive me; I had to take these over because of glare. The detail of hair and dress here is magnificent. These appear to be the original frames, and there is no damage except a yellowing of the paper, through time. One of the figures is signed "Sketched by . . . , ...

Antiques:Art:Portrait Miniature Of Gentleman
This is an interesting portrait miniature on ivory which I found in a little shop in Eton. It doesn't look English to me. Perhaps it is German? He is in perfect condition with no damage of any kind. He is in a wooden frame with a linen mat which I thought was much newer than the portrait, though another collector said not, so you be the judge. Framed he measures 5 and 1/2 inches by 5 inches; the miniature itself measures 2 and 1/2 inches by 2 inches. This one has a pearly, luminious quality.

Portrait Miniature on Ivory, French, Georgian

$400 USDPortrait Miniature on Ivory, French, Georgian

Antiques:Art:Portrait Miniature Of Lady:French Lady On Ivory, Original Frame
This is a portrait miniature on ivory of a lovely lady whom I suspect is French. When looking at the piece with a loupe, one is amazed at the detail in her hair--it almost looks like one could touch a loose strand--and her eyes--the sparkle is still there. This piece is still in the original, beautiful brass frame with bow top, leather back, and brass easel. The miniature is signed, but some of the letters are worn, and it is very difficult to make out. If I had to guess, I would guess that the ...

$100 USDPrint, colored, of New York City, Matted, Victorian

Antiques:Art:Matted Victorian Print Of New York City
I purchased this very early print of New York City in Bath, England. The dealer said he has someone to color them. I'm not sure of the date of this, but certainly it's Victorian, or earlier, with the steamboats, sailboats, and lack of skyscrapers. It is matted and ready for a frame. It is signed at the bottom, "W and R Chambers, London and Edinburgh. " It also says "drawn by E.F. Sargent." The matted print measures 11 and 1/2 North to South, and 13 and 1/2 East to West. Georgian Cork Picture/ Windsor Castle, 1800

$750 USDGeorgian Cork Picture/ Windsor Castle, 1800

Antiques:Art:Georgian Cork Picture/Windsor Castle
This is one of the most unique items I have ever owned, and the only one I have ever seen. It is a cork picture; ie, it is made from Cork. I believe it to be the likeness of Windsor Castle, and the detail is amazing, down to the houses on the cliff, and the boat. It is in wonderful condition for its age; there is a little place on the left hand corner (see close-up photo) where the cork is missing, but remember, I am using a 6X zoom, so the place is rather insignificant. The piece appears to be ...

$800 USDPortrait Miniature of "American" Gentleman, on Ivory

Antiques:Art:Portrait Miniature On Ivory Of "American" Gentleman
This is a very interesting portrait miniature on ivory which is beautifully painted. I was told from the dealer from whom I purchased it in London, that this was an American gentleman. The three pieces I bought came from an American estate, and the other two portraits were to be of English people, but this one was supposed to be American, though it is quite early. I would date it at 1760 or 1770. It appears to be in its original frame, with a brass back, and there is no damage at all to the ...

This is quite an interesting portrait miniature on ivory of a young woman. The miniature is in excellent condition, with no paint loss, and is circa 1840, or maybe even a little earlier. It's in it's original red leather carrying case, with a glass cover, and the miniature seems to be matted in velvet. The case itself has suffered some damage and leather is worn, and it is a little warped, making it difficult to close, even though the original clasp is still present. It has done its job though, ...
