WHAT'S THIS? I acquired this Lenci doll out of an estate that I purchased. I know absolutely nothing about dolls! In doing research on her I can find plenty on Lenci dolls, but nothing about this style. She has no legs. Someone told me that this type doll was to lay flat on your bed and store your PJ's in. I really could use some help. Does anyone know of a book or web site I could find info on this type Lenci doll and what she is worth?

Has anyone ever seen any shoes like this? They appear to be quite old, maybe from the 1930's or 1940's? The rubber part on the bottom of the heal say "Nylo Tops".......so, I assume the top portion is some type of Nylon, the goes to the upper part of the shoe. The patent leather type of the shoes is kind of a patent shiny leather? They have their original shoe laces. The nylon part goes up to above mid calf, or to right below the knees & are stretchy. They measure about 9 1/4 in length & the heal ...

Pottery:Art Pottery:Majolica
This majolica plate is either from the Griffin Smith Hill, Pennsylvania factory 1879 to 1892 or a very early Josiah Wedgwood piece. The only clue is the backstamp which is simply an impressed "E" which might stand for "Etruscan" from Griffin Smith Hill or "Etruria" the Staffordshire home of the Wedgwood factory or even their date stamp for 1861. I would love some help identifying the factory that made it. Wonderful plate the glaze just pops. Kiln stilt marks to the base. Condition is good, some ...

I wish I knew more about this bowl. i do know it is from the middle east and was made no later than 1910. It was purchased in Turkey at that time by a honeymooning couple and passed down through the family. The Orientalist movement was in full swing at the time and no doubt the purchase was intend of a "moorish" room in their new home. The design is wonderful. Antiques:Tools:Handpainted Porcelain Press Vice Clamp Bavarian Or German
This is a rare and unique piece that I am having trouble locating information on. Basically it is a handpainted floral porcelain press with vice-like mechanism that includes porcelain balls that swirl around lowering and raising the press plate. The porcelain circle that is underneath the press plate is concave as if to receive something round. The mark on the bottom is an imprinted "RPM" which stands for "Reinecke Porzellan Manufaktur." This mark, I understand, is by Hegewald Bohemia from the ...
