Direct reference to such pieces as 'vintage' are intended to suggest age, but this reference is inaccurate. It may be noted by the seller that the manner in which this pin was made shows its age, which is also an inaccurate statement. This piece does not have, as this piece has been seen described, "....the typical back for older vintage Czech jewelry - it is not plated and has visible solder marks." but rather it has only the typical hasty 'put together' look that actually defines current modern creations. Don't be fooled!
This individual piece does not bear a visible pad mark on the back, but some examples may bear an oval reading, 'Czech.'. That mark is quite frequently seen on the new Czech Republic jewelry entering the market. Generally, inexperienced collectors and sellers misinterpret this mark to mean an item made in 'Czechoslovakia'. But a country by that name no longer exists. A mark of 'Czech' or 'Czecho' (alone - without 'Slovakia') is commonly found on jewelry made in the modern Czech Republic, .
Measurements are approximately 2 3/4 inches by 2 inches.
