Uncle Remus or Uncle Mose Cookie Jar

This example is another ceramic body cookie jar that appears to have been created from a mold taken from an authentic "F& F Mold and Die Co." plastic item from the 1950's. These may be referred to as either Uncle Remus or Uncle Mose by sellers.

The fact that similar figural items exist (in plastic) makes it seem more likely to be the 'real thing.' Add a bit of faux paint 'wear' and this unmarked piece can seem like a good buy to the unwary buyer.

This new reproduction cookie jar measures 11 1/2 inches tall by 6 inches wide.
