Spectacular, intricate and interesting are words I would use to describe this pin. It was such a marvelous blend of multi-levels, different rhinestones and fanciful extensions that I thought surely it must be an Alfred Philippe design. So, I searched Jim Katz' patent listings and I found a brooch very similar. With three small differences I would venture to say that the patent was altered and became this very brooch. It was submitted in 1953 by Alfred Philippe. Pin is 3" long, rhodium plated and showing very little signs of its age. A couple of the baguettes are not as sparkling as the rest but I have not cleaned this so a mild cleaning might make a difference. Over-all this piece is in excellent condition.
