Truly a showpiece in every way, the necklace starts with two strands of contrasting oversized beads. The shortest strand consists of creamy white simulated pearls 14mm in size with 4 decorative gold tone plated 1/2" x 1/2" spacers. The second strand holds jet black glass beads 15mm and 5 slightly larger spacers- 1/2" x 5/8" . An interesting thing I noticed is that each of the spacers contain a repeating Givenchy logo, that gives the look of a Greek Key design, an awesome detail.
But the piece de resistance and focal point is the fabulous faux pearl drop dangling from the center. 22mm wide! Yep, I'll say it again, 22mm in diameter. Attached to the center spacer of the longest strand, the complete drop dangles at 1 5/8" below and is also decorated with the Givenchy logo.
The total length measuring from the hook to the extension is 19 1/2". 4 1/2" of the extender gives you plenty of room to adjust for comfort. The shortest strand measures 13 1/2" and the longest strand at approx. 15". The signature logo tag is attached.
The matching earrings are for pierced ears. They feature the same repeating logo design you see in the necklace and have dangling drops of hemispheres of faux pearls. 1 1/2" long, 1/2" wide. Signed on the back Givenchy Paris New York and the logo. These make a lovely complement to the necklace without drawing attention away.
Ca. 1980's, this set is in excellent vintage condition. I've only noticed a couple of very tiny and negligible scuffs to the largest faux pearl, which keeps me from listing this as a mint piece. So I'll ask once again- How bold will you go?
