This cup is just adorable & with it's two rhymes is suitable for a boy or girl. All rhyme depictions & verbiage is slightly raised up from the background of the cup. The definition on the patterns & verbiage is excellent. If there is any wear it is faint & even. My close ups (photos # 3-4-5) only show a look of uneven wear due to the curves on cup & angle of photo to avoid reflection. Between the rhymes, the side opposite the handle, is a patterned presentation area of a lovely scrolled frame accented with two birds & flower & leaf design. The presentation area has been engraved with swirling Art Nouveau initials of what appears to be GMS. The sterling is in excellent plus condition. It has no rips, dents, holes, deep scratches or repairs. The top rim is in wonderful condition. It has a couple of minute, smaller then 1/64" bites. But I have rubbed the rim with my finger & there is nothing that will hurt a child's mouth/lip. The base of the cup has a couple of minute, shallow indentations from it's previous child that are almost non existent. They only disrupt the smooth curve of the bottom rim-probably due to the sterling's thickness. This cup is quite substantial & weighs 3.8 oz's on my postage scale. When looking into the interior of the cup you can see corresponding approx 1/64" big slight bumps. The top of the handle has a faint flat spot to curve approx 1/8" x 3/32". These flaws are all so minor in an antique baby cup. We only report them to be accurate. The cup's top dia is approx 3 1/8". It is just a hair out of round by an approx 1/16". It stands 2 3/8" tall to rim & 2 7/16" to top of handle. The hallmark on the base of the cup is for Lebkuecher & Co. Per Rainwater they were in business under this name circa 1896-1909.
