This circa 1925 compact is lovely & was a quality piece in it's day. It's silver has hand engraved accents & stamped pattern work. The silver has no rips, dents or repairs. The enamel is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. It does have some of that normal light surface scratching. The backside shows it a little more as you are only looking at one color. The hand painted scene in the center of the top is amazing. It is just over a 1 1/4" wide-look at the detail!!! No that is not a crack or a scratch-she is flying a kite & that is her string. The hinge is intact & tight. You can hear the compact close but if you hold it upside down & shake firmly it will open. The beveled mirror appears to be original & has no chips, cracks & is just starting to get a few age specks. The mirror is firmly enclosed in top but has a very slight movement. That is NOT a dent on the right side of mirror frame-it is a hallmark in silver of a fuzzy bird head with a 1 & W. The interior base has 6 marks of: 667 - Made in Austria - Sterling Silver - 935 - KF - ? . Size is 2 5/8" dia x about 5/8" deep at center. Please read ABOUT US & TERMS OF SALE.
