Elgin America 1496 Figural Coin Compact

This figural compact appears to never been used. It's original puff & screen have no powder residue. It does have an occasional disruption to the silver surface color as visible when looking at outer circular rims & the soldiers collar. There is a surface only thin line scratch on front that you find when compact held at correct angle. I worked with several angles to get it to show for you in the photo. This is VERY minor & I am only reporting it to be accurate. As you can see from photos it has lovely pattern definition work. It's been made from a form of thin metal (possibly plated) & it has been lacquered. There is 1 spot on front & 2 spots on back where lacquer was apparently applied too heavy OR allowed to pool. With age these spots have turned a little golden in color. Hinge is in working order & closure is firm. The side rims of grooved lines (just like an actual coin) show some graying, 1 grooved line has a black spot & there is a spot of lacquer on the finger tab. Mirror appears to be original with no cracks but is starting to gray & get age spots. Great compact for a figural or Elgin collection. Size is 2 1/4" dia & 3/8" deep. Circa 1925.
