When I set up these red and green pears, the red ones resisted all my best efforts to stand up alongside the single green pear. Instead, they insisted on lying prone reminding me of fat, lazy seals sunning themselves on the beach. Hence the title, “Lounging Around.” This is another in the “Painting A Day” series I am doing in between more complex and detailed paintings. These paintings are smaller, more spontaneous and must be painted in one day (my rule). They are intended to hone my skills by forcing me to capture the essence of the scene as quickly and simply as possible. Enjoy.
