A wonderful sterling silver sword and sheath brooch in a Roman motif, circa 1940s. The sword and sheath are connected by a chain, and the sword’s handle is a stamped repoussé helmeted man’s head in profile, while the sheath is decorated with small flowers and other ornamentation. Deep blue prong-set cabs adorn both pieces, along with raised metal beading and other details. The brooch can be worn with the sword sheathed or unsheathed, or separately, as each piece has it's own pin back.
• SIZE: Sheathed sword is 3/4 inch X 3 1/2 inches long. Sword alone is 3 1/4 inches long. Sheath alone is 2 1/8 inches long. Chain is 3 3/4 inches long.
• CONDITION: Excellent.
• HALLMARKED: "STERLING" on back of sheath.
