A pierced dessert plate most likely made by the firm of Minton, Staffordshire. The plate is decorated with a handed painted floral spray featuring a dog rose. The plate is unmarked, but the body is typical of Minton. Very few Minton pieces are marked before 1842. The plate has an old collector’s label on the reverse.
The plate is in very good condition. There is no damage or restoration. The enamels are in good condition. There is a wear to the gilding on approximately 4 inches of the rim, as illustrated.
The plate is 9 inches wide.
