Fine Silver Pomegranate Necklace

This hollow form pendant was formed around an actual, tiny pomegranate. The pendant is fine silver made from PMC*. The stone is a laboratory grown sapphire sitting inside an artistic triangle bordered on the left by silver balls. The sterling link chain attaches with a sturdy handmade clasp.

* PMC, or Precious Metal Clay, is made from super-fine particles of fine silver mixed with an organic binder resulting in clay. After creating a piece of jewelry, art, or other item from this clay, it is fired at very high temperatures in a kiln where the organic binders burn away leaving .999 pure silver also called Fine Silver.

To compare, Fine Silver is 99.9% pure silver. Sterling Silver is 92.5% pure silver with the remainder comprised of other metals (usually copper.)
