Vintage Plate - Hunt Scene, Showing Riders on Horses with Hounds

Clearly marked on the back “Made in the Republic of Ireland” and “Arklow”, this 1950s souvenir china plate shows a center transfer image of six riders on horses in their traditional red jackets, surrounded by hounds actively engaged in the hunt.

Plenty of great details – trees at the edge of the forest, horses of many different colors, running hounds – this plate shows a tremendous amount of activity.

The central image is surrounded by an outer edge in rich Irish green, detailed with fine gold floral and scallop decoration. The plate is in the shape of a rounded square, and size is 5”across. Condition is excellent – no chips, cracks, hairlines or other problems. The gold trim is in great condition, showing no wear. This plate has been tucked away and has seen almost no use. What a fine addition this plate would be to an equestrian's collection!
