Porcelain
= A rare First Lady portrait plate, this one of Mary Todd Lincoln, is unmarked but made by Imperial China. I had another similar plate of First Lady Frances Cleveland, sold here not long ago in my shop, which was clearly marked from Imperial China. The two plates were the same style and shape. Both are from the early 20th century. This 6" x 6" plate shows Mrs.Lincoln in portrait and in good detail. It is surrounded by a unusual peach lustre, drawing the eye to her picture as the central image. ...

More hand-painting in his clothing - shoes, pants and cape - all add up to a really superb vase. Lots of gold on this one - from the top edge of leaves down to the fine brush ...
