Rare 1878 Antique Children's Book A Christmas at School

Although this book is not dated, my research shows it was published 1878. And the only way that reference knew the date was the book was a gift and the giver dated it, 1878 along with the inscription. I've owned this so many years that I honestly cannot say where I got it, which is unusual for me. I do remember think how wonderful the title was, and since it was unusual, it was a must have. I also adore the cover, which by the way, it's a cloth covered hard cover book. The paste down image is of a little boy dragging a fisherman's net out of the water....look closer and you will see a little cupid holding an arrow, perhaps ready to strike true love in the hearts of the children. The book is 6 inches x 4 inches and has 46 pages. Many black and white woodcuts inside also help date the book to the 1870's era. The front cover has rubs on each corner, but displays well. The back cover has suffered aging as shown, however, still strong not limp. A little fellow named Sammie Huges received this from his Mamie, at least that is what is hand written on the inside page which has a tear as shown. It's a dear book. I was delighted to see it's value being well over my asking price and the fact that I was only able to find 2 in my research...however, it is my book and I am fortunate to offer it to you for much less due to owning it for many many years, and the fact that I am downsizing so looking for a home for it, like all of the other books I have listed in mu Ruby Lane shop. *** Remember , insurance is optional.
