SOLD Vintage 1930's Blue Lemon Paisley Silk Wrap Dress Pin Up Glamour
Through the years I have collected fashion for the style, but , even more so, for the fabric or print. This item is a favorite. The fabric is a silky fabric with good weight. That paisley pattern was difficult to capture correctly...it is a softer blue with navy squiggle lines and curls, accented with beautiful lemon curls and beige curls. It is a wrap dress. A tie the crosses over to tie inside at the side of the waist. 2 huge 1 1/4 inch diameter mother of pearl button front...1 large slant top pocket on front. The shoulder pads are wrinkled inside, but still lays well. The shawl collar is wide and although a cleavage , a discreet one due to the wrap design. Vertical darts front and back for the pin up shape. Due to the pocket on the front side, this item may have been intended for an up scale house dress, I truly cannot decide. It is perfect to wear in today's world...I never wore it, instead it has been well kept in the closet to enjoy as a collectible treasure. A wearable size though...55 inches long measuring from the back neck down to the hem. 28 waist ...hips free, but measures 40 inches...One button hole is stretched so whoever the previous or original owner was, this was worn and a definite favorite. No tears or stains , however, the inside collar facing has a worn look due to age and wear...this is on the facing so does not show...and my photos have picked up a slight difference in color at the sleeves shoulders sides..very discreet difference and due to age. The item is truly beautiful , but please remember, it is circa 1930's. Time to part with it, as really , it is too beautiful to hang in my closet any longer...it is beautiful to wear, beautiful to display....be it on a lovely padded hanger, or if you have a mannequin, it is fun to display...a very sexy item. *** Remember , insurance is optional, if you do not want insurance, check the deny insurance box on your purchase order *** From my collection to you , to enjoy
