SOLD Antique Victorian Jewelry Cameo Enamel Jewels Large Bracelet Necklace
Magnificent beauty from the early 1900's Victorian era. The bracelet and necklace has survived well. Please use the Ruby Lane enlarge photo and enjoy this rare beauty. Where do I start....the bracelet first...it is 6 1/2 inches long, not including the tongue that slides in the box clasp. The band is 1 1/4 inches wide, not including the center medallion with the black glass cameo. The enamel work looks like Plique-a-jour , however, it is not open back , and yet the enamel work has the stained glass affect. The box clasp has 2 enameled crowns and 2 cabochons. On the opposite end at the tongue clasp, 2 cabochons are missing. The bracelet's band has 2 flower medallions in enamel work with a blue rhinestone in the center. I see one piece of enamel chipped on one flower petal of the medallion. The bracelet is made of 3 lines of wire linked gold-tone tubes. The center medallion is tiered. The frame or back plate is ornate with scrolls. Set into the back plate is the oval frame and then centered on top of the oval frame is the glass cameo. All of the enamel work is intact and stunning. On the 4 corners of the back plate there is a seed-pearl , one is missing. The black glass cameo is surrounded by faux - jewels cabochons. 1 is missing. The bracelet needs to be taken to a jeweler, when you fasten it, the clasp sticks...so, do not put the bracelet on when you receive it. It is near impossible to remove. I do not know why...it looks fine, but, when fastened, even off the wrist, it is extremely hard to unfasten. Now, the necklace...It is 19 inches long not including the 3 inch drop. I love the style of the chain, so unique. Although the box clasp is a silver-tone, I do feel it is origin to the necklace. I am very happy to say, I see no problems with the necklace. The medallion section is the same size of the one on the bracelet. I never wore this set , it was purchased for it's beauty. It is a very bold statement , and once the bracelet's clasp is loosened , you can wear this beautiful jewelry. Whoever owned it before me, evidently had it stored away also because as you can se, the back is in fine condition, minimum wear. You can wear this set, and no one will notice it is missing any faux-jewel cabochons. The back glass cameo has the teeniest tiniest flea bites possible inside where it sits in the mount, only seen with a strong magnifying glass and a critical eye. Please remember, this really is an antique set of jewelry , and honestly, I truly feel it merits the term " rare ". From me to you, the luxury of the Victorians
