About the Author: Maria Parloa was a very well known 19th century cooking teacher and cookbook author. She published this book in 1879. Also in 1879 Cadwallader C. Washburn started the company we know today as “General Mills.” In 1880 Washburn reprinted the book with his company’s logo and passed it out to his customers. This 1972 edition was issued by General Mills as a special commemorative.
