This vintage Rex pancake compact is elegant, beautiful and truly unique. The compact is covered in red leather and embossed with the head likeness of a fine-looking horse with an embossed strap and buckle border.

The compact is mirrored and contains a powder puff, powder screen, and loose face powder.

The compact is 4 ½ inches in diameter and in outstanding condition. The leather is not dry or brittle but is still soft and supple.

The puff shows the Rex Fifth Avenue legend. The inner border of the compact bears the U.S. patent number 2163429. U.S. patent office records show this patent was issued June 20, 1939.
