This cookie jar was made by the American Bisque Company of Wellsville, WV from a mold by Ludiwici Celadon between 1941 and 1945. The jar has four different views with boy's head with pants, girl's head with pants, boy's head with dress and girl's head with dress. The boy's side of the jar is cold painted in brown, black and green while the girl's side is cold painted in brown, green and orange. The worst paint loss is to the eyes where one's hand rubs when picking up the lid. Incised on the bottom are the words: "Patent Applied For Turnabout The 4 in One U. S. A." There is one small nick at the edge of the girl's dress; it appears to have been there awhile as it is unglazed and brown.The nick measures about 1/4 inch or 1/2 centimeter. The cookie jar stands about 11 3/4 inches tall and has a width of about 6 inches. Wouldn't this cookie jar look great in your kitchen?
