Davenport Friburg Ironstone Black and White Meat Platter

This wonderful black and white meat platter by Davenport is in the "Friburg" pattern. The main scene consists of buildings with Gothic and vaguely Chinese details. The buildings are situated on a body of water. The border is of six panels of roses in black with panels of white vine between. There are two marks on the base. One has the words ironstone in a band beneath a crown with the word Davenport below the band and the pattern name "Friburg" in the center of the band. There is also an incised mark of an anchor with the word Davenport above it. There are no chips, nicks or cracks although there are utensil scratches in the interior. The platter stands about 1 1/8 inches high and is about 13 1/2 inches long and 10 1/2 inches wide. The piece was made c. 1793-1887 and would be an asset to anyone's collection.
