Pine Camel Back Wooden Trunk

This is an early 1800s dovetailed sides wooden trunk made of pine. It has a camel back and forged handles of wrought iron and brass. It sits on two horizontal runners for legs and has a hinged top that lifts from one side. The original locking mechanism is in place although there is no key. The exterior of the trunk is dark while the interior has the soft glow of yellow pine.

DIMENSIONS: The trunk is 22 inches long X 16 inches high X 14 inches deep.

CONDITION: There is a split in the top that runs about three-quarters of the length of the trunk along with some other nicks and chips that give the trunk character. The hinges have been put on with modern nails which means that these hinges are not original to the trunk.
