Large Oak Split Buttocks Basket

This wonderful old oak split buttocks basket came out of the smokehouse at a farm auction in Jefferson County, Tennessee. The central handle and bottom divider is all one piece held together at the rim with old round head nails. The basket is in excellent condition with only a couple of minor split breaks in the interior and one exterior break at the handle. The basket could use a good cleaning, but I will leave that to the purchaser. This would certainly look lovely in a kitchen or next to a fireplace.

Approximate dimensions: 12 inches from the bottom to the handle, buttocks width 14 1/2 inches, central axis 17 inches
